YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES The What: At Blackwave GmbH, we develop and manufacture high-performance carbon fiber components for airplanes, rockets, and satellites — pushing the limits of lightweight design and precision manufacturing. Our mission: To end COPV failure in spaceflight. The benchmark for performance, reliability and cost efficiency.

The Why: Because quality is the foundation of innovation. Every component we deliver must perform flawlessly under extreme conditions — in the air, in orbit, and beyond. As part of our Quality team, you ensure that our processes meet the highest standards, enabling us to turn cutting-edge ideas into flight-ready solutions.

Important Note: This role is focused on Quality Assurance of our hardware (COPVs). We are not currently hiring for Software Quality Assurance positions

  • Project & Process Quality Assurance: You define and implement quality assurance strategies across the entire product lifecycle - from suppliers and development to serial production.
  • Manufacturing & Process Quality: You accompany production on the shop floor, working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure quality requirements are effectively implemented at all production stations.
  • Change Control: You support product and process changes, ensure quality requirements are considered and contribute to approval and implementation activities.
  • Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions: You analyze quality deviations using structured methods (e.g. 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why), derive sustainable corrective actions, and ensure their implementation.
  • Continuous Improvement & Audits: You monitor key quality indicators (e.g. audit findings, non-conformities) and proactively drive continuous improvement of processes and standards.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Training & studies - You have completed degree in engineering, quality management, production technology, or a comparable qualification
  • Professional experience - You have relevant experience in quality planning and risk management, ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Analytical Thinking & Root Cause Analysis: You are skilled at identifying patterns, isolating root causes (e.g. using 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa), and translating findings into actionable improvements
  • Standards & Compliance Knowledge: You are familiar with applicable quality standards and their practical implementation, as well as experience with ISO9001
  • Working Style & Mindset: You work independently, think in solutions, and enjoy deriving insights from quality data. You pursue excellence and value precision and reliability
  • Language skills - Very good written and spoken English, German is also nice to have for collaboration between departments

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Personal responsibility & creative freedom: You actively contribute to the further development of our production technologies.
  • Flexible working hours & mobile working: Work-life balance is not an empty promise with us.
  • Start-up spirit meets aerospace: flat hierarchies, short decision-making processes and room for innovation.
  • Individual benefits: Choose between a Germany ticket, Egym-Wellpass or a tax-free benefit in kind with the Give Card.
  • Fresh food every day: Shared lunch break with healthy, varied dishes.
  • Alpine view included: Our roof terrace invites you to relax after work.
  • Further development guaranteed: You will grow both professionally and personally through exciting projects and exchanges with experts.
  • We live and breathe team culture: whether it's a tech talk, team event or after-work - we celebrate successes together.
