As a Field Service Engineer Customer Engineer at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. You'll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues.

As an Installation Engineer, you are part of theField Service Operations (FSO), Customer Engineer Team, and you will play a key role in bringing cutting-edge semiconductor equipment online at some of the world's most advanced manufacturing facilities. Working alongside experienced Customer Engineers, you'll gain hands-on exposure to complex technologies, solve challenging technical problems, and directly impact customer success. As this role is frequently performed within semiconductor manufacturing cleanrooms, employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields where required . Partner with Senior Customer Engineers to install, commission, maintain, and upgrade Applied Materials equipment at customer sites. Support equipment startup and acceptance activities to ensure successful deployment and operational readiness. Utilize digital diagnostic tools, equipment analytics, and troubleshooting methodologies to identify and resolve technical issues. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on advanced electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas delivery systems. Diagnose equipment performance issues and implement solutions with support from senior team members and technical experts. Build strong relationships with customers through professional communication and technical expertise . Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and operational procedures while working in customer manufacturing environments. Document maintenance activities, service reports, and technical findings accurately and professionally. Support continuous improvement initiatives and other business needs as required .
